Wow, already One Year Old! It is amazing how quickly you have grown. We had your 12 month check-up yesterday and you are 25.1 lbs (80th percentile) and 30.5 inches long (71st percentile). You have grown almost 10 inches this year and gained 16.8 lbs. Holy cow! You have 7 teeth with at least a few more looking to pop through soon. You walk, run, dance, stomp, laugh, yell. The list goes on and on.
You are one determined child. You will work at something until you can accomplish it. If you want to figure it out, you will. However, the opposite is true also. If it doesn't interest you then we all might as well forget about it because you will have no part of it.
You love your Mommy and Daddy dearly. You love to wrestle with daddy on the bed. You get so giggly and excited to rough house with him. I am definitely the person you come to for cuddles and nurturing.
You are eating lots of foods now. Solids for all meals as well as snacks. You refuse to drink any milk. You still drink formula because milk just doesn't do it for you. We have even tried to mix the two and you refuse. You love water though so once we transition you from formula you will be drinking only that. I am not a fan of having you drink juice so unless you decide you want milk then water it will be.
Sleeping has been all over the place lately. Some nights you will sleep through and then others you are up 3 or 4 times. It can be frustrating at times but I am sure you are working on some teeth and know this will only last a short amount of time.
You have moved up to a new class at school. You are now with the 12-18 month kids. I think you were ready to move up sooner because you have thrived in their so far. You get to run around more and can play outside now. I was sad the day you transitioned because it just confirmed that you are no longer my baby. Well, you will always be my baby no matter your age but you are officially a toddler now. Cue the tears.
This year has been a whirlwind. It has gone by so fast and I know each year hereafter will do the same
. There are times that I want to just go back and hold you when you were first here, just to help me remember exactly what it was like when I first laid eyes on you. Pictures and videos can only tell so much. I am so glad that I have a ton so I can at least look back on those days with you. I know I will be saying this same thing this time next year about where you are now. It just all goes by so fast. I just want to freeze time and keep you little a bit longer.
Here's to another fun filled year of being your Mommy.
