What a great, relaxing weekend. This had to be the first weekend in at least a month that I didn't have to do anything work related, minus answer a few emails and texts. I didn't think it would happen at all this Summer, let alone the weekend before the 4th. Hallelujah, though. I really needed this time to just be with my family and enjoy life a little bit.
I only cooked twice over the weekend. The rest of our meals consisted of us going out to eat. That wasn't really planned, it just worked out that way. We ventured to two of our favorite breakfast establishments on Saturday and Sunday with both Christopher and Brandon. Nick and I were lucky enough to eat dinner out just the two of us on Friday Night. Sunday night the whole family, including grandparents, went out for Mexican. Needless to say, my hiney will be hitting the gym hard in the foreseeable future.
We did venture over to a park Sunday to let the kiddies play. Brandon is now only wanting to play on the big kid playground equipment which really keeps me on my toes. Other than that, not much in the line of going anywhere and doing anything major. I did set up Brandon's baby pool in the front yard along with the sprinklers for some afternoon fun in the Florida overcast sun. The heat has been pretty ridiculous up until now but we had a pretty decent breeze blowing all weekend along with scattered showers that seemed to at least keep the temperature bearable.
It was nice to just sit back in a chair, drink a cold beer, and let Brandon go to town in his little pool. He is a bit of a water baby so it made for perfect afternoon fun.
Speaking of some easy fun. I am participating in a pretty nice giveaway below. There are some awesome prizes so be sure to check everyone out. Good luck to all those that participate. I wish I could win this!
Looks like such a lovely way to spend some time - it is nice to just take a step back from things sometimes.
