Nick has been talking about how badly we need a "bug out bag." Ya know, the kind of bag that has all the crap you need if the world goes to shit. He has been talking about this for months, or more like years. I think we watch too much Walking Dead but hey, I guess it doesn't hurt to be prepared and it makes it easy for me to buy gifts since he has FINALLY made a wish list of things on Amazon.
So, want some ideas for what to buy the guy who thinks he would kick ass on the show "Naked and Afraid"? Look no further because here it is.
Spec Ops T.H.E. Ultimate Assault Pack - Before you go out and buy all the accessories, you first need something to put them in. This bag is amazing. I have already purchased it and we took it with us on a canoe trip. It hold everything you need plus will keep everything dry. There are a zillion different pockets and plenty of space. Probably the best bag on the market for this stuff.
Bear Grylls Survival Series Fire Starter - Seems pretty important to have something like this so you can easily, or more easily that using sticks, start a fire to keep warm.
SAS Survival Handbook - For the man who wants to know how to do anything and handle anything. Just found out that SAS stands for British Special Air Service. The author probably knows what he is talking about. Nick has been reading this and actually has learned a few new things that he can't wait to try out.
Emergency Mylar Thermal Blankets - I'm assuming Nick thinks we will not be in Florida when the apocalypse happens. Not sure how much need we have for thermal blankets in Florida but hey, I'm not the survivalist by any means.
Fully Stocked MOLLE Tactical Trauma Kit - It is what is says. A fully stocked trauma kit. Actually seems like a good thing to have around in general.
Bear Grylls Survival Hatchet with Nylon Sheath - Ya know, for all those trees were going to be cutting down. Or maybe we will just use it to kill all those zombies trying to eat us (Walking Dead style).
Bear Grylls Binoculars - I think Nick would really prefer to go hang out with Bear Grylls and all his fancy survival equipment. Do you see the theme here?
I'm going to stop here as you get the point. There are 30+ things on this list that Nick has given me. Now, he is going to have to teach me have to use all of this stuff as well. Especially since I took the "Naked and Afraid Survival Quiz" and scored a 1.4 on a survivability scale of 1-10. Needless to say, I would be the first one eaten on Walking Dead.
